All Signs Lead To Luxury

A mere few moments in ‘Jade Mountain’ and you will discover this reprieve is way more than just a resort. This meticulously designed marvel is well deserving of its name, as this escape truly is a gem within a mountain.
Although, like all treasure, I was sent of a quest to uncover it. Tucked just around the corner and high above the colourful town of Soufriere, I drove through the laid-back hustle and bustle of its streets until I reached a mirage of jungle encasing what could generously be described as a road- leading deep into emerald foliage.

Following the signs to paradise, I was attached to my window, gawking at the sheer beauty of the endless sea laying below. Although, despite the rocky journey, whilst making my way through trees buzzing with anticipation for what is snuggled within them; it was clear this dirt track was in fact, a staircase to heaven.
Greeted by the sweet sister resort, ‘Anse Chastanet’, I was welcomed by vibrant splashes of paint erupting through the ‘Piti Piton Bar’ and the proud draping of the Saint Lucian madras along every hearty wooden fixture. With the Pitons standing regal and on guard in the distance, it appears luxury at ‘Anse Chastanet’ comes in the form of a homely hug.

As far as waiting rooms are concerned, with a glass of tropical goodness in my hand, this was a heavenly pit-stop before being whisked away into the enticing mist above.
The Gem of the Mountain
Thoughtfully designed with an architect’s mind over a hotelier’s brain, every feature of this hotel nods to the beauty tucked just below you. Although, a slight tilt of the head will also leave you with endless views to marvel at.
My first glimpse of the Pitons held rejuvenating effects, a lush emerald relief demanding attention amidst the tranquil Caribbean Sea, shrouded by misty clouds and a sun itching to peak through.
This magic is near on impossible to overlook, but most monumentally it effortlessly captured Nick Troubetzkoy’s heart many moons ago- and we have been hooked ever since.

With a concept as captivating as its design, ‘Jade Mountain’ is the love child of Saint Lucia’s raw beauty. In fact, this vision can be dated back to the islands birth story, home to the most futile soil in the world and a landscape grown to match it, this pearl of the Caribbean was well and truly fought after. A beauty so esteemed that this islet simply had to be named after a woman.

Spurred by love at first sight, Nick Troubetzkoy devoted his genius to appreciating the awe-inspiring allure of the Pitons and the fauna stretching before their feet. A scene of which is visible from every sanctuary and dining venue.
‘Jade Mountain’ lays effortless yet demanding in its presence; as if snoozing blissfully whilst its abundant surroundings burst to life and does all the talking. The layers of luxury and attention to detail intermingled amongst this resort is a never-ending puzzle which is a true delight to uncover.

Holding heartwarming stories running through its rugged stone bridges and views leaving you catching flies, this resort raises the bar for what innovation and luxury can truly be: a match made in heaven.
A Culinary Club in the Clouds
Dining at the ‘Jade Mountain Club’ is true serenity amongst the treetops. A balcony where the panoramic picture continues, and dare I say is elevated, thanks to the pairing of delicious culinary creations.

Wrapped around a dazzling infinity pool (the first of many) and dancing in a kaleidoscope of colour thanks to the rainbow of mosaics lining its depths, I was transfixed. This plethora of colour infused sea glass is a motif around the property, engulfing its walls and sanctuaries in vibrant colour. Each suite has its own shade which truly glows through every sun rise.

‘Jade Mountain’ illuminates all the senses, as my meal here was full of soul and intense flavour. I highly recommend the Creole Chicken for an unforgettable taste of the Caribbean, and the 12 hour braised wagyu beef tacos- which were the star of the show for me.

This spot is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with the addition of live entertainment on select evenings. Simply imagine the soothing acoustics of the islands foremost jazz musicians as the sun paints the Pitons and sea beyond, this is a venue to cherish.
Exclusive and one-of-a-kind (a common theme here at Jade Mountain), I truly felt spoilt.
A Sanctuary in the Sky
Bringing a whole new meaning to barefoot luxury, ‘Jade Mountain’ has no exterior doors, no windows, and no glass; yet privacy is undeniable. This allowed me to unashamedly stare awe-struck at my panoramic view, without worrying about onlookers.

Each cocoon of luxury is designed as a sanctuary, a hidden haven to appreciate and reconcile. By simply strolling into my suite, it was as if the heavens had opened up at my very feet. I was beckoned in by sun beams and a soft breeze, making my double poster bed sheets dance in the wind. Although, one thing in particular caught my eye, as I had tunnel vision on the sparkling rug dripping across into the abys; my private infinity pool.

Providing a boundless infinity of luxury to match their pools, this standard is cherished both internally and externally where at ‘Jade Mountain’, they morph into one. Nick Troubetzkoy main aim was to create a ‘cornucopia of organic architecture’, utilising the palette of indigenous materials right on the properties very doorstep.
There’s a reason accommodation here is labelled a sanctuary over a room, as guest experience is at the beating heart of this property, your room being your refuge. When exploring the ethereal walkways of the resort I was let into the secret of what makes a stay here just that pillar above the rest; and that’s in the expectation of service. Guests are almost expected to stay in their sanctuary and soak up its magic, so the hotel caters to this. Bringing you everything you could ever dream of, without even having to lift a finger.

Although, a stay here also holds the key to the charms just below in ‘Anse Chastanet’, the properties sister resort. With this in mind, I highly recommend awakening from your beloved bubble to experience her facilities, from a sprawling beach to unique speciality dining spots.

With no TVs, clocks or other societal niknaks, sneaking into your sanctuary is a place cleansed sea air recoups after a long journey over the Atlantic Ocean and where water is sanitised and softened to an idyllic standard, awaiting your lounging. You will truly feel suspended in thin air.

‘Jade Mountain’ creates a sense of prescence and appreciation of which has never before been mastered before.
'House in Heaven'- The Kai en Ciel Spa
Speaking of spas, this spot may be slight in size, yet it packs a rejuvenating punch. ‘Kai En Ciel’, translating to ‘House in Heaven’ may be all you need to know to envision the serenity surrounding this space…
Hidden amongst the palm-swinging hilltops, ‘Kai en Ciel’ is ‘Jade Mountain’s’ smaller and more intimate spa area compared to ‘Anse Chastenet’s’ Kai Belte (which is also accessible to ‘Jade Mountain’ guests, sat peacefully on Anse Chastanet beach).

Choose to enjoy treatments here, amongst the lush emerald of the Saint Lucian landscape, or select your dream spa treatment from their menu and rejuvenate in the privacy of your sanctuary. The soothing sea breeze blows in whatever direction you wish at this hotel.

Branching out from specialised treatments, the cleansing balm of nature is not to be undervalued, guests are welcome to complimentary yoga classes, a fitness studio, bikes to glide through the estates biking trails as well as escorted walks and hikes available throughout the 600-acre property.
Moral of the Story
Through every trip I embark on I aim to leave a bookmark in time. A place for you to go to uncover the true worth of every stay, because I know; every hotel has a story at the epicentre of their journey.
With an origin story as iconic as the Pitons of which inspired it, ‘Jade Mountain’ has been elevating guest experience from the moment Nick Troubetzkoy allowed his passion and vision to truly come to life.
And come to life it most certainly did, a force of which breezes throughout the property day and night. This property flourishes on openness, a tribute to the island and a connection to its remarkable beauty. This sense of tranquility can been seen and felt from every deck and sky bound pathway.
At this property, you run out of time, not choices.
Designed with guest experience at the forefront of its endeavors, it’s hard not to note the sentimental fixtures- warm toned lamps to deter mosquitos, roofs slanted towards the wind to welcome in the blissful breeze, no doors no windows no glass- just carved balconies into the sky.
Gratitude for nature and our planet is a second nature here, the hotel upholds an almost civic duty to their eco-conscious, design led standpoint. Proving sustainability boasts luxury in ways elaborate materials never could. Letting the most heartfelt and personal service in the Caribbean, and its heavenly enclaves do all the talking.

Deemed the Hawaii of the Caribbean, my stay here was a breath of fresh air, embracing all the raw beauty Saint Lucia has to offer and leaving the outside world a winding dirt track and two towering Pitons away.

If you want a stay that evokes unexplored emotion and a transforming sense of peace, ‘Jade Mountain’ welcomes you with open arms (and open walls).
